   works very well

   I was skeptical after issues with the other major brand of heated coffee cups. The features on this cup actually work as described. When set to the “piping” hot mode, it really does keep your coffee very hot. The different heat settings and the on/off button seemed gimmicky, but work as expected and are a nice additional feature. The materials and construction of the cup feel substantial. The lid is a nice touch that seems to keep the heat in and help prevent spills. The true test will be longevity of the coating on the inside of the cup. All the cups from the other major brand would begin to peel on the inside within months of use. Their customer service would argue this was chipping due to use of a metal stirring spoon. Even with a plastic spoon, the coating would still peel off. I believe the peeling issue was due to the rapid change of temperature when pouring in the hot coffee in a cold cup. I will report back if this cup begins to peel.Update 1/23/2025: This cup is still working better than expected. The surface coating inside and out still looks new. The battery life for heating is more than adequate. The software (software in a coffee cup??) is simple but well though out. It seems to know when the cup is empty or has been sitting unused for too long and shuts off the heating to save battery power. It heats the coffee quickly to the desired temperature if you happen to pour in some less than hot coffee. I look forward to using it each morning.

   Fantastic, better than an Ember cup!

   I have an Ember and Nextmug. I’ve had the Ember over two years and the base broke. One of the tiny little spring-loaded nibs lost its springiness. A weakness in design if you ask me. But, the Nextmug uses the same little nibs. Their design is a little stronger in that one nib is right in the center of the cup-base. But still, a weakness in design that you cannot (and I stress CANNOT) get the baseplate wet.I’m not sure what happened to my ember, but I ended up making a solid nib out of solder for the one that lost its spring. It’s holding, but I’m not confident in it. I’m guessing at some point, the Nextmug base will do the same thing.That aside, the Nextmug is superior for a few reasons. One, it has a definitive on and off option. Where the Ember has a sensor to know when you’ve added liquid, it’s hit or miss. The Ember on/off switch is also inconveniently located underneath the cup. And it also is hit or miss. Where it gives you a tactile response that you’ve clicked it, it’s unclear most of the time what you’ve actually done. Sometimes a light comes on, sometimes not. Sometimes it’s blinking red, sometimes it’s solid red, green, white, blinking…The Nextmug on/off is located on the side (superior) and it’s easy to know when the cup is off (no lights) and which option you are picking.The Ember app? Garbage. It is unreliable. If it works, it’s fantastic. The trouble is that it rarely connects no matter what you do. When I went shopping for a replacement, I specifically looked for cups that did not have an app. “App” means IT developers, means more cost, and generally for a product like this, average developers (I mean, it’s a cup not an air-traffic control system). Plus, the Bluetooth chips they must use have to be the bottom of the barrel (aka, unreliable). Therefore, all the features that the app provided (heating options most notably), were useless to me.The Ember cup size (10 oz) was a little small. There’s now a 14 oz option, but the train had left the station!The Ember on/off button on the bottom of the cup, again, is a nuisance.And here’s something I didn’t think I would care for… the Nextmug lid! I have to say, it’s great! It helps keep the coffee warmer without using as much energy (longer charge when it’s away from the base). Also, it nearly erases evaporation. And, I’m not 100% sure, but the coffee seems to be much less bitter because of it. Maybe my imagination, but the coffee taste better from the Nextmug cup. Plus, no spills (or at least, less chance of splashing).The Nextmug light indicators where intuitive and having a button for “warm, hot, and piping” versus an app… Way to go Nextmug!Between the Nextmug and Ember, it was an easy decision for me. I’m still concerned about the little nibs losing their springiness… But, there you have it.

   Excellent Product and Company

   I have been using this mug for over a year and I have been enjoying hot coffee in the morning. Recently it stopped working so I wrote the company asking how to replace the battery, thinking that was the problem. They said the battery cannot be replaced and offered to send me a replacement. I was very pleased and surprised and wanted to send in this review is recognition of the company.

   Best when used as intended

   I’m not sure what aspect of my being this comes from, but I was finding myself constantly grabbing a cold mug when I finally remembered it was there. I’d make a pot of tea, make my cup, intentionally let it cool, and one way or another it was too cool / cold by the time I got to it. I can’t say that I’ve been monitoring how long it took for the mug to cool down, but it always seemed too quick. I was already looking for a reason to get a new mug as the rounder handle resulted in holding it in a painful way and it was frankly getting heavier to my hands as well (being ceramic). So I had a few reasons to look anyway.And with that in mind, I decided to look for something that might help with those issues or at the least, not let the cup’s contents drop below a certain temperature Long enough for me to get around to drinking it, while also having a more comfortable weight and handle. Initially, I thought about those coasters that heat up, but felt that that’d be too much of a burn / fire hazard and likely not able to control the temperature as well. Seeing as how I didn’t know what temperature I was waiting for it to cool down too, I knew that I’d want something with a measured setting. I was also looking for something that could heat up a cold cup to the desired temperature.When I first saw this listing, I was taken back by the price, but not so much that it kept me from looking into it. Especially since I have a habit of deciding on things that one way or another tend to push the budget. I looked at the various aspects of the design and saw that it was basically self-contained, so there was a little to no chance of being hurt by the mug (unless I spilled the contents on the upper two settings). Being able to choose from a known selection of temperatures was a must on this purchase. I also liked that the handle appeared (correctly) to be large enough to fit my average sized, closed grip. While I’ve not weighed it, it definitely feels lighter than a comparably sized ceramic. Most of its weight is, of course, the battery at the bottom.I was a bit bummed that the charger was a barrel plug as that doesn’t allow me to just grab the nearest USB-C cord from my station (where I sit). That said, if it Did have USB charging, then it would have only been to the base anyway, so that would be a moot point since it would likely never get unplugged unless moved. While I don’t know how much my old mug held, it’s quite apparent that this is likely a few ounces less, but it’s also exactly 1/3rd of the 1L pot when brewed vs ~2.5 fills with my old mug. I’m sure I’ll get used to the difference eventually.Now, when evaluating the performance of this, it became apparent that I was running into my desired functionality vs its design. It has become obvious that this is designed to start with a hot liquid and keep it at the chosen temperature until empty or the battery runs out. It does that quite well, but I can’t say how long the battery actually lasts for sure because I lose track of time too easy. So when I say that it ‘feels’ like it’s losing power (not temperature) quicker than advertised, I can’t quantify that statement, but it ‘feels’ closer to 2-2.5 hrs vs 4 hrs (lid on). I can say that I figured out that my comfortable temperature is the lowest setting and that the middle temperature more closely resembles my freshly brewed pot. The charging time feels like forever, but definitely a couple hours from depleted.Now when trying to see how it does with ‘heating from cold’, that definitely seemed to drain the battery much faster while also taking a long time. I even tried setting it to that middle choice and then turning it back down, but that still drained the battery rather quickly. So if That is how you want to use it, then leave it on the charger until it’s hot again (and expect to wait a bit). I did have to stop myself from walking it over to the microwave the first few times until I got myself better trained with how it’s designed. Because of this, as much as I hate adding to an already pretty penny, I chose to purchase a 2nd base to sit where I eat / drink. I thought about moving the original base, but then I realized that it was better to leave that there for when I’ve cleaned the mug (default storage location and all that).What improvements would I like to see?1) Make a slightly larger (16oz?) mug, but have it be taller so that the base and lids don’t change.2) Source a higher density battery if possible.3) Increase the speed at which it warms up (if feasible).4) Add a little more texture to the handle / housing as it is metal smooth and slides a bit easy in the hands.5) Offer a closeable lid as that should prevent spills and likely assist in keeping it warmer longer.

   My in-laws are obsessed!!!

   To say my in-laws are obsessed is an understatement. Out of all their gifts this year, this was by far their favorite. Which means major brownie points for me! They started using it immediately after they unwrapped them and have used it each morning since. It holds a good charge in the mug and it charges quickly too. It’s a very tough material, so it’s very sturdy. It keeps the coffee perfectly warm as well.Be sure to read the instructions for washing though! They’re particular on how to wash the mugs. Main things are don’t put it in the dish washer, and don’t submerge it in water.Overall, a perfect purchase.

   Great mug!

   So far so good. Bought this as a gift for my dad. Easy instructions and seems to be working great! My dad loves that his coffee and tea can sit literally all day and stay warm. Great buy! Now I’m thinking I need to buy one for me.

   OK but not the answer to piping hot coffee

   After using the Ember for over a year, it started to lose its ability to keep my coffee warm. Because when the Ember mug is off the base, forget it. It goes cold fast. So I thought I would give Nextmug a try in hopes that it would be the answer to keeping my coffee HOT, not just kind of warm. That’s what we all want, right? But after several weeks of use, I’m sorry to report it’s not great. Here’s why:1. Unlike the Ember (would not recommend), you have to press a power button each time you use Nextmug to start heating the coffee. This is separate from the actual mug being charged. Those are two different things for some reason. So there’s a power light which needs to be glowing (red or green depending) before the temperature lights (which are white) can be activated. Ember is easier in that regard. When you see the light on on an Ember mug, you know it’s doing the job of heating your coffee. Not sure why Nextmug complicates this for users.2. The mug loses its charge fairly quickly so you have to keep it on the base overnight. Otherwise, once you fill it, you will need to immediately place it on its base to start working. If you have the base positioned right next to where you will be (for example, next to your computer while working), then you’re set. If not, you will have to let it charge first on the base before using it, which can take a while.3. There are three temp settings but 2 are useless because, even at the hottest setting, it doesn’t get that hot. It’s passably warm. Which will probably fine for most people. It helps that they provide a lid to hold in the heat but I don’t really use it unless I’m on the go.4. Also unexpectedly turns off. When using it off the base, I’ve noticed that the temp will stop working for some unknown reason. I will put the coffee down, go do a couple of things, go back and pick up the coffee and it’s off because the coffee is barely warm.On the plus side, it seems to keep coffee warm when the mug is off the base (again, as long as the mug is charged) longer than Ember. I also like that the base has its heating contacts on a round raised “platform,” unlike the Ember which has a round recessed heating section (think “male” vs. “female” fitting). This matters because if you ever spill or drip your coffee, you don’t have to worry as much about the liquid pooling on the heating coils on the base like you do with the Ember mug. The mug is also fatter than the Ember mug, which I like. Personal preference of course but it feels a little more stable.Bottom line, it’s OK. Not saying don’t buy it but if you’re searching for a mug that keeps your coffee satisfyingly hot, this isn’t it.

   Almost perfect

   Long time user of the similar product from Ember. Chose this when my Ember died (more on that later).It does the heating as designed. No complaints on that. The size, the weight and the grip are convenient too. A HUGE win over the Ember is the design of the charging contacts. The contact on the bottom of the mug is recessed. This protects it from accidentally getting wet while washing. This is VERY important. I believe it was the undoing of my Ember.The one design flaw in my opinion is that the mug curves in at the top. It is an odd feel for the first few times you use it. But your lips adjust and you get used to it. I would have preferred the side of the mug to be straight.An Ember-feature that I wish this mug had is auto-sensing start when hot liquid is poured into the mug. Again not a deal breaker. After the first few uses you get on board and remember that you have to press the button to turn it on.All in all, a good mug. A good replacement for my Ember. And less expensive.

   Missing a touch of ambiance

   I find the Nextmug to be an acceptable addition to my lifestyle. My house is quite cold, and it was difficult to keep my coffee warm. Prior to this, I had just a heated base that I would keep a variety of mugs on. It was okay, but I wanted to be able to move around with my coffee and not be relient upon being an arm’s length from the base. One thing I’ve noticed is that choosing the “hot” temperature as the level of coffee goes down is it not the best idea if you add milk like I do. At a certain point an unwelcome film begins to form on the surface. I counter this by switching to the “warm” setting halfway through. Used this way, uncovered, the mug stays warm for a little over an hour, which is fine for me. The only thing I miss from a standard mug is the comfort of holding a warm mug in my hands on a cold morning–this mug is safe to place directly on furniture, so the exterior does not get warm. The line of battery lights along the bottom will go down to just one quite quickly, which sometimes makes me a bit anxious and compels me to keep checking but, like I said, it doesn’t take me over an hour to drink from a mug this size (14 oz.) anyway. I also like that this mug will turn off when empty, whereas with my old warmer I was always wondering when I left the house if I remembered to turn it off.

    I like it.

    Product is nice quality and well-made, works as promised. I’m giving it 5 stars. I really like my coffee to be hot and get annoyed with having to keep microwaving it, so this is great. Only downside is that I have collected lots of nice coffee mugs over the years which I’m not using as much anymore. I would have preferred if I could have found a rechargable mug warmer rather than having a heated mug, which would have allowed me to use my existing mugs. Unfortunately I was not able to find one of these on Amazon, as all of the mug warmers were all of the plug-in type and not battery operated. Note: the battery will last much longer if you always keep the lid on the mug while you are using it. If you don’t use the lid, it will drain the battery much faster in order to keep the coffee hot.

    Great customer service

    This is the third Nextmug that I have purchased. It is also the third brand that I have used. The first was a name brand that lasted six months or so before the base failed. The second brand was from Amazon and was a good product. I have a strong preference for the way the Nextmug feels. The handle is comfortable. The first one I purchased was a little over a year ago and I noticed that the battery didn’t seem to be lasting as long as it initially did. I wrote the company and although it wasn’t under warranty, they offered and sent me a new base. Having one near the coffee machine to charge overnight and one near where I drink coffee has been a game changer. I can now use the mug indefinitely during the day. This model does not have the Bluetooth connectivity which I frankly consider more of a gimmick than a functional feature. I use the mug with the same settings and find it more convenient to use the button on the mug than to open an app and change settings. I highly recommend this brand!

    Almost perfect…

    I really like the Nextmug. It’s a great alternative to that pricey Em***r mug. The “Piping” hot setting does indeed keep your beverage VERY VERY HOT – which I love. But that being said, it’s not perfect. My biggest gripe is the 14 oz. mug is JUST BARELY 14 ounces… to a point where you need to rely on surface tension to actually get 14 ounces in there. Secondly, I do wish the battery life was a bit better when the mug is not sitting on its charging pad. Other than those fairly minor gripes, it’s a great product overall. Also keep in mind this is not app-controlled. The mug has a physical button which controls the settings.

    Hot coffee lives!

    I absolutely LOVE this cup. I like my coffee HOT and this mug does not fail. I fill it with hot coffee, set the temp for the hottest light and then sit and read my news etc in am. I place the mug on the charging base most of the time. I bought the smaller size cup for my husband and he loves it too. Now we only use these mugs. Didn’t know we had so many ceramic mugs now that we aren’t using them. I don’t find the fact that I can’t immerse it or put it in the dishwasher a problem at all. Cleans easily at the sink and into the drying rack it goes for the next time. Mug is comfortable in the hand too. Handle fits my hand and It is a little heavier than my ceramic mug but not too much. Would recommend highly.

    Excellent product worth the money.

    I have purchased 6 mugs in the last two years. WHY? Because it is an excellent product!! I purchased a Ember mug approximately 3+ years ago it was a great purchase and was for the first year. (The temperature setting is done using an app on your phone). I tried to resuscitate the mug, as the app had failed to where the temperature could no longer be maintained. I did like what the Ember provided.I was ready to invest in a second Ember when I read a review where a purchaser mentioned the Next mug. I am so glad I did! I bought one and am still using it 2 years later. I am so impressed with this mug that I bought one for a co-worker this summer and for Christmas, I purchased 4 more, two for cousins and two for my grandsons.While working at my desk and getting involved with my job so much that my coffee got cold. This mug maintains the heat with three different settings. “Piping setting” is HOT!! My go to is the “hot” setting and keeps my coffee hot for FOUR hours!! Hot coffee happy worker!!Tip: If you are a creamer user, do not stir with a metal spoon. I’ve found the ceramic mugs will scratch. I add the creamer first and let my Keurig do the stirring as the coffee is poured in the mug.Enjoy!!

    This cup is DIVINE!!!

    Wow this cup is AMAZING? I have been looking for a cup that can self heat for a long time. Sadly, I am in the hospital frequently because I have lupus. Last year I was in the hospital 95 days. 😭 I really enjoy having a cup of hot tea but when I am in the hospital, I can’t leave my room because I’m usually REALLY sick. After the cafeteria closes, I can’t get a cup of hot tea in the evening (when I want it the most). My only option has been for a nurse to microwave a styrofoam cup in a microwave which automatically makes me not even want the cup of hot water. I have been looking for a long time to find a travel mug that could be my “hospital mug”. I’ve tried several options all of which failed. I came across this cup and thought it looked interesting and the reviews were really good. My first thought was “a $100 coffe cup ??? What has this first world self indulgent country come to??? Holy fart blossom that’s alot of money!!” However, 95 days of my life in a hospital SUCKS! And during that time there is very little joy or peace. So I thought to myself “why are you spending all this time lonely and miserable and for $100 you could enjoy a cup of tea and it would bring you so much joy and comfort”. My favorite color is pink and I was so pleased that the cup came in a rose color, which is a lovely shade of rose/pink. The cup is amazing. It has a good grip. The round shape is comfortable to hold in your hands. The handle is the right grip and is comfortable to wrap your fingers around. The weight of the mug feels solid but not heavy. It has the right weight to feel like you are holding a comfort mug. It’s compact enough with the charging base to easily stick in a small hospital travel bag. The texture of the cup is calming and the cup is easy to wash well in a hotel or hospital sink. If I could change anything about the mug it would be that it was just a smidge talker so that the charging cord could travel inside the mug with the lid on it. It just almost will close but not completely. That’s the only rhino I wish was different just because when I travel around I don’t want to lose one of the parts and it would maximum travel efficiency. That’s a small thing in comparison to the quality of this mug.Also, I was curious if I started with cold water (like I will have to do in a hospital), could the cup do more than just keep tea warm but rather could I start with a cup of cold water and get the water hot enough to steep the tea. The answer is YES indeed you can. I did an experiment at home with a cup of refrigerated water and turned the mug setting onto “piping”. I put a kitchen thermometer in the water to measure the temperature of the water when it started and then to see how long it took and how warm the water would get without the help of starting with hot water. It worked! It was a little bit slow (maybe 30 mins or so). But it did the job which is really amazing for such a small “device” of this sort. The water started at 43 degrees and it heated up to 140 degrees in around 35ish minutes. It did steep the tea perfectly! Wahoo.I loved my cup so much that I gave my first mug to a very special friend who works outdoors a lot farming in the north east where it is often very cold. She enjoys a cup of hot coffee to warm her frozen body while she is working. She is young and would have never bought herself an expensive coffee cup. However, she absolute loves the cup. Which means this is a very nice special gift to give someone who really loves warm drinks. Today I am ordering my replacement mug for my hospital bag.This is a very cool cup that works and I think it is absolutely worth spending $100 for the comfort and luxury this mug brings to life enjoyment.My story of my struggle with lupus is on YouTube if you search “Ballerina With Lupus”.     Better than expected!

    I purchased this mug in Nov of 2023 and wanted to give it a good, long use before reviewing. I had previously gotten and used another, more expensive electric mug which is sold in all the stores at Christmas time. With THAT mug, you could set the temp of your mug via their app to a specific number and that was nice so I didn’t expect to like this mug as much. But with the other mug, the coating inside the bottom wore off in about 6 months from stirring and after about a year, it really didn’t keep my drinks piping hot anymore. With THIS mug, I use the middle (of the 3) setting, “hot” and it is piping hot for me. The hottest, “piping” is too hot (I used the max number on the previous mug to get it to the heat level I wanted). I have also not had a circular path appear on the inside bottom of this mug. And, a year later, it is still going strong. CAVEAT: I do keep it on its coaster the whole time and sip as I work (it takes me hours to drink a mug of something)… when I happen to be up and take my mug, without the lid, the charge lasts on HOT for about an hour. Maybe 90 min with the lid on. I am still quite satisfied! The previous mug’s charger was concave and this one is convex, so I just had to get the hang of placing it on the charger correctly without it toppling over, but that was an easy adjustment. Both mugs are heavier than a standard mug (obviously – there is a battery in the bottom!) but I got used to their weight. I am very happy with my Nextmug and would buy it again!!

    Amazing!

    I bought 2 of these as gifts and I heard the most amazing feedback about them.It does everything it says– It manages warmth perfectly between the different temp settings. Charges quickly. Easy to wash and clean. This Nextmug product is fantastic!!!!Definitely recommend you keep the lid on as it helps preserve battery life while in use, and keeps the beverage warm. Upon my first use, my review was, “wow, I feel like I just picked up my hot coffee from the barista bar.”I know its pricey, which is why I bought 2 as gifts. I couldnt justify spending the money on myself. But after seeing how happy the outcome, I couldnt wait to get one. I’m a big coffee and tea drinker, but realize I’m drinking my coffee fast because it’s no longer warm. This is a game changer.Don’t hesitate. You won’t be disappointed.

    Best of the best!

    I had an Ember knock off as my first mug. The charging base and cup was the same as the Ember model and the charger stopped working after about 9 months. The center mounted charging base and Nextmug cup is superior for a sure connection every time you set it down. Because it is recessed, you don’t have to slide it around until you have contact. The side button is easy to use for on, temp setting and off. The mug is stainless steel with a ceramic coating, feels great in my hand and the lid is included. I like 140 degrees, perfect temp for my morning cups of Joe. I do wish they would allow you to choose 1 degree at a time and they will probably have a model that does that soon. I would imagine and upgrade with a temp display that would allow for 1 degree increments. I read too many complaints about the unreliable Bluetooth in the ember not connecting and temp setting not working. I Love this mug!!!

    I love this mug!!

    I have used this mug 5 times since I got it and I have nothing but good things to say! I read a ton of reviews about this mug compared to other options and ultimately settled on this one because I didn’t want to bother with an app. The mug has 3 settings – warm, hot, and piping. The mug itself doesn’t feel hot which was important to me. It also has an auto-off feature if it’s left on without any liquid in the cup. It does a great job of keeping drinks hot, and I really like the included lid. I feel that the smaller size is sufficient for me, but just be mindful that the heating element takes up some space in the bottom of the mug, so the mug looks a bit bigger on the outside than the actual liquid volume it can hold. If you’re on the fence about size, consider getting the bigger version!

    This mug is so easy to use. The simple button press is great, no app to hassle with, no bluetooth connection to worry about, it just works. I wouldn’t mind if they had a lower temp setting but 130/140/150 seems like an optimal set of temps for most people. It does a really great job keeping my coffee warm for the entire time I’m drinking it. I’m one of those people that takes a few sips, gets caught up in something, then forgets their coffee for an hour or so. It’s so nice not needing to worry about cold coffee any more.The mug doesn’t get warm at all on the outside which is really, really nice. In fact the mug is fairly good at retaining heat by itself, even when it’s off. I’ve made tea in it before and the tea in my mug was 10 degrees hotter than the tea in one of our standard mugs.The mug will keep the coffee the right temp w/o the lid but you do get a fair amount of boil off and I think the heater has to run hotter/longer to keep things warm. The heat seems to come from the bottom only and you do get a bit of a cooked coffee flavor without the lid. Well, with my 1-2 hour drinking time I do at least. Faster drinkers may not have much problem. The lid is really well designed though. The opening is about perfect for sipping, it’s easy to get on and positioned and it’s easy to clean. I didn’t think I’d use it but I really don’t mind it.The mug itself is slightly small. I think I’m used to 14oz coffee mugs that comfortably hold 12oz of coffee, a bit of milk and still have room left so it doesn’t spill. This mug is literally 14oz though. Using the lid I get about 10oz of coffee w/ a splash of milk and have to take a sip before putting the lid on.The inside of the mug seems really easy to clean at first but, after a few weeks use, I started to notice an off flavor. Rewashing it didn’t seem to help. I ended up using the trick I use on travel bottles–pouring in hot water, a bit of dishwasher machine powder and using an electric whisk to stir (not touching the bottom) at high speed for a while. That did get rid of the off flavor but it needs that kind of washing every few uses. I really wish somebody would make one of these that disassembled so you could put the inner mug into the dishwasher.

    It’s nearly perfect

    This is the BEST! I used to re-heat my coffee and tea in the microwave multiple times a day. This mug is a dream come true. I put my tea on Hot and my coffee on piping.The battery lasts me 2 hours.Two negatives: 1 The handle is uncomfortable, I have to hold it in a certain way to avoid it digging in to my middle finger. 2 The cup is very cold to begin with on the outside so to get rid of that I prime it with hot tap water; just a comfort thing.

    Keeps Coffee Hot but Capacity Rating Misleading

    Just got this mug for Christmas. It does keep my coffee hot as advertised. I noticed an issue when I made my first cup of coffee. Our coffee maker is set at 12 oz. for each brew. That filled the cup to the brim with no room for any cream. The cup is advertised as 14oz. capacity but after filling and refilling with a measuring cup it is more like 12 oz. capacity. 14oz will overflow the cup. Nice cup and pleased with the heating performance but I might return for next size up.

    One of the best things I ever bought

    This cup is amazing! I used a heated base before, but it never kept my coffee warm enough plus I could not walk away from my desk. This cup is a life changer. I set it on “hot” and it keeps the coffee nice and warm for almost two hours without putting it on the base. I keep the base next to the coffee machine and put the cup to charge after i finish my coffee so it is always charged in the morning. If you are a slow coffee drinker like me, you will love this product!

    Keeps it nice and hot

    This solved a problem for me. I used to have a little corded hot plate to keep my coffee warm, but the dog tripped on it one day. This Cordless cup is a great solution. Has 3 settings; warm, hot and piping. The hot setting is perfect. Only dislike i have is the handle which has a severe edge. I wish it was a more rounded similar to a traditional porcelain cup. But, that doesn’t prevent from using it every day. I can confirm the auto shut off works as designed. My everyday cup now.

    I have an Ember mug as well but this one is easier to operate. The on button is on the side where you can see it AND you can see the battery use right there on the mug. The temperature selection is easy to use too being right there on the mug. I would HIGHLY recommend this mug. It is also less expensive than the Ember.

    This mug is now my only one that I use

    I have had this mug for over 6 months and I love this mug as it keeps my coffee warm, hot or piping hot during the day or evening. Keeping the lid on the mug will keep it warm longer off of the charger but at home I use it by my chair with the charger. At the office, I don’t use it with the charger and it lasts for a good hour to keep it warm so if I get busy and go back to drink my coffee or tea, it is still warm. Highly recommend for coffee or tea drinkers that like to make their warm/ hot drinks last without using a travel mug. The material is light but heavy enough and has a rubberized bottom that makes it easy to sit anywhere.

    First impressions… great so far!

    I’ve only had it for a day, and this is my first experience with the mug. Will update as I go further with it. So far, it may be just what I was looking for as I prefer coffee in a cup without a lid, and it’s constantly getting cold if I don’t drink it in like 15 minutes.Positives:I was skeptical that this mug could keep my coffee warm enough, but the “piping” setting works very well for me, though apparently impacts battery life when away from the coaster. Some like it hot. I like it very hot.The color I picked is just right. I got the burgundy color, and it’s dark enough but still gives a nice morning color. I considered “spice” but glad I got the darker one. It makes the black at the bottom blend in better.Battery life is good enough for me to get through my coffee at my preferred heat when sitting outside on my back porch. Good enough for even a second cup, which I loved.The coaster is on my WFH desk, and the adapter has a nice long cord. Might have been better to be a USB-C connector, but that is a minor criticism.Something I didn’t see in the other reviews is that when you put in your hot coffee, it shows you on the LEDs where the temp is so you can pick the corresponding temp setting to keep it there. Nice!I considered the Ember for years, but the long-term reviews kept me away. Didn’t want to use an app. Is that the dumbest thing ever or what?The LEDs are not overly bright.     Great Cup

    Love almost everything about this cup. There are a couple of things I would like to see changed. The first one is just personal preference. I would like the handle to be a bit wider. Would make it more comfortable with the weight. It would also be nice if the temperature could be set so that it didn’t have to be set with each use. A couple of more options on temp would be nice as my ideal would be between the hot and piping settings. Outside of those 3 picky items, it is a great cup. Very much recommend!

    Three ….heating options!!! 🤩

    If you like to walk away from your hot beverage and keep coming back to a hot cup this is for you.I love that it is portable and I don’t have to keep it on a warming plate. It can go outside on my deck. And I love it has three heating options!!     These are the best mugs. They do what they say! It has a nice feel, it’s smooth and matte finish us perfect. The companies customer service is excellent! I had bought this for my grandpa and my grandma had a brain lapse and microwaved it. I called to see what they could do, not demanding anything. The company replaced it free. They were so gracious. They had us return the microwaved one for research purposes! LOL hopefully they got good info from it.

    Works great, it’s entirely functional in doing what it advertises. Kudos!And it doesn’t look *terrible*. It’s pretty nice-looking. But it could look even nicer.First of all, I want a nice “stone” color version — a light gray or cream. I know they have the “almond” color, but it still has the black base and black charger. I bought the black, but it’s nice to be able to see the liquid you’re drinking. The whole thing still looks “electronics”. I want something that looks “tasteful ceramics” that just happens to have a button and a few LED’s at the base.Second, get rid of all the markings! Get rid of the brand name, and get rid of the labels for “warm”, “hot”, and “piping”. Just have the buttons and the lights, no brands of labels. That will make it look much classier!The functionality, materials and shape are great. But it could just use that extra upgrade in sophistication and elegance and simplicity to produce one that’s entirely cream-colored, and that doesn’t have markings all over the lower part.

    Pretty good mug overall

    What we liked: Instructions are clear and concise and easy to follow. The mug does a pretty good job of maintaining temperature. We liked the design of the mug and its weight felt solid in our hands. What we didn’t like so much: The control button is very hard to see. Paint the steam icon on the button white or silver so it can be found without having to feel around for it. Although using the lid helped the mug maintain its temperature for longer, we are not crazy about the idea of drinking from a cup with a heated plastic lid. Finally, I’d definitely buy this again but I’d spring for the 18 oz mug this time.

    Love This Mug!

    I was always finishing my coffee cold using a regular mug. Now, my coffee stays hot to the last drop. With the lid, my Nextmug keeps coffee piping hot over 2+ hours. The controls are easy to use.     This thing works! Plenty of heat and easy to control

    I bought Nextmug after first trying Ember. Unfortunately the software necessary for setting the temperature on Ember would not work. Reviews of the software confirmed that my experience was common. So, I returned the Ember mug and bought Nextmug. This one is simple. You set the temperature you want directly from the mug, without needing a cell phone and poorly written app. I use the mug daily and love it.

    Great to gift to give and great gift to receive

    My grandma bought me this mug for Christmas and not knowing she bought me this mug I bought her the exact same mug also for Christmas. We are both coffee lovers and even though she isn’t upset about her coffee going cold and will drink it cold she prefers it hot. I meanwhile will only drink hot coffee hot, and this cup keeps the coffee at the perfect temperature for me. The setup is incredibly easy and the instructions are easy to follow.

    I wish the cup was a little bigger

    This electric coffee cup is pretty cool and does actually heat up your coffee with the touch of a button. I’ve owned it for about a year and it still works fine. Also, the cup is sleek and comfortable. My biggest negatives about it are the price, the size. In the past, I used a bigger cup, so by the time I got to the lower half of the cup, it was much less hot, which I can’t stand, hence, my purchase of Nextmug. The problem I have is that I actually don’t need to use the warmer on this cup that much because it’s just an average size and I usually get to the bottom and start another cup of hot coffee without needing to turn on the cup warmer. The levels of heat are Warm, Hot, and Piping. I can’t imagine using even the Hot setting, as the warm setting is plenty hot. The Piping setting is perplexing and can’t imagine anyone using or wanting this setting. I don’t particularly like the blinking battery indicator lights that are always doing something, but it’s a small feature at the bottom of the cup. These do make great gifts, although pretty pricey. The product does do what it says and looks and feels great. It would make a lot of sense if the company designed a bigger cup for the obvious reason of not having to fill the cup back up as much and having the heater available to keep your coffee warm the whole time. 4/5 stars

    Great Mugs!!

    Great electric warming cup

    I am a tea sipper. I pour the hot water in, steep the bag or leaves, and set the cup on medium. If the water is too hot, it lets the temperature cool down before kicking on. Keeps it hot until the last drop which can be over an hour. Charge lasts 3 to 4 days using it once a day. Love this cup!

    Pricey, but works as expected

    Definitely grab this product on sale, and look for the cheapest color that you’ll like.That said, I love this mug so much. Since getting this mug as an early Christmas gift yesterday, it’s been the first time in my adult life I’ve been able to finish hot drinks without the need to reheat.When I start working, I get very focused. When I remember my coffee or tea, it’s already cold. Yesterday while I was working, I was able to enjoy my coffee over the course of 4 hours and the last drop was just as hot as the first. I kept it on the charger on warm.Today, I used the lid and kept it off the charger. I didn’t even need to turn it on right away; but when I did, my tea was perfect.I’ll update in a few months, but for now, I cannot recommend this product enough. I even bought one for a friend!!

    Great concept

    I was given this as a gift and immediately purchased another one to gift someone else. The different heat levels are fantastic and spot on. I use piping the most and it is the perfect temp. It’s great for those who can’t handle their coffee getting cold in the slightest which was me. It drinks great and the lid has a tight fit. The color is just like the picture. The only downsides are that it dies very fast when not on the doc. I keep the doc at my desk so that it stays charged. Also, it stains on the inside really easy and is impossible to remove the stains if you drink black coffee.

    This is made for right handed people does what it says it will do but backward

    So far, I’ve used it for two days it does as it is described but backward for a left handed person. It is really awkward to use the controls. A left handed person can’t see the controls. One must put it in the right hand to change or even see the controls. The on/off button is in the middle. So far. I’m kinda happy.

    Absolutely love this one. Works on low setting for four hours. Middle setting 3 hours, which is plenty hot. I’ve had this mug now for six months now. Wish they made a 24oz mug.     Great device but it quit after 14 months

    I really liked this cup for coffee and tea and used it daily for 14 months until it quit working this month. I have already mentioned it to the wife as a Christmas wish. I don’t know what the life expectancy is for the thing but I’m so used to having it that I’m going to have to get a new one soon.

    Best gift of the Christmas season

    We have bought 7 of the Nextmugs this year as gift for our adult kids and their spouses. They loved them. The reason we did is because my husband and I both have one and love them. We pour our coffee in the morning and it stays the same temp until we are finished. No more rewarming in the microwave or drinking cold coffee. They are sturdy and durable as well.     Nextmug- Three temperatures, Warm, Medium, Hot (Dusty Rose Coffee Mug-14 oz.)

    Pros: The first time I saw this mug, my daughter had in her car to drink coffee. She explained that it keeps the coffee warm with 3 settings that you can set to warm, medium, hot. You place the cup on a plate using the USB cord with wall power adapter to charge it up. It’s portable because once it recharges, it stays charged for a while and you can take it anywhere you want. I asked how much it was. At the time, she said her husband bought it as a gift for her, and it was something like $134. It was out-of-my price range. It comes sealed with plastic in a box, well packaged inside the box with a round plate, USB Cord, wall charger (in separate box) and mug with lid. All parts were sealed in plastic. Full instructions with pictures included.The price was around $89 on the October Prime Days (2024). I bought the Dusty Rose color. I usually buy 16 oz. Wawa coffee, but I take forever to drink it, it gets cold, and I throw the rest out. Today was the first day I used it. I set the ceramic mug on warm, poured 14 ozs. of coffee in. It was hot, so I waited, and it cooled a little and drank some, taking like an hour to drink abut 7 ozs. I poured the rest in and set it to hot, in a couple of minutes it heated up and lowered to medium. As I was drinking it, and there was less in the cup, I lowered to warm. I was able to have nice warm coffee for 90 minutes. Will be using this every day. Love it.Cons: Regular Price expensive, not immersible to wash. Have to be careful not to get the bottom wet underneath where you place on top of the charger.

    Superior to the Ember

    Had an Ember and hated it. The battery would last 15 minutes, the coating wore off inside, the pins on the base stopped working and had to replace it ($35). This mug is far superior in every aspect
